Questions I Should Not Be Asked

My Sister is on a job hunting and I helping her by telling tips on whats going on during an interview, what to wear and what are the questions commonly asked. And I also told her that there are questions that the interviewer should not ask. It is called illegal questions.

Here are some of the illegal questions that frequently asked by interview:

  • What is your ethnicity?

  • What is your sexual orientation?

  • What is your religion?

  • Do you attend church services regularly?

  • Where were you born?

  • How old are you?

  • How tall are you?

  • Do you have any disabilities?

  • Are you married?

  • Do you have children?

These questions are so common but most applicants especially those who are fresh grads have no idea that these are illegal questions. It is called illegal because there is a law that prohibits to ask questions that are not related to the job. Another reason, is, these are personal questions and may lead to discrimination.

Everybody who is looking for a job will encounter these questions and if possible try to change the topic in a nice way.
