Bulusan Volcano
My latest photo of the erupting volcano in my hometown. This is the biggest ash explosion so far since 2007. Another thing is threatening my hometown, ashfall and lahar flow. It's raining heavily since last week and lahar had started to flow down the river and reached some of the communities in my province as well as the ashfall. I'm so thankful my town is not yet affected by it.

Odd Sunday
I woke up with a beautiful mood! The sun is shining, means its going to be a beautiful day. Although the rain threatens, I think today will a good day. I just noticed something odd, the whole neighborhood is so quiet and no sound of cars passing by. Then I remember it is Paquao's fight today. So everybody will be at home!
As for me, its perfect to watch the fight while eating ice cream... Yummy! I have here some strawberry ice cream.
Happy weekend!

Earthquake and Minor Volcanic Eruption
I've been so worried for my parents and relatives in my hometown. Last Nov. 6, there was an earthquake and followed by a minor volcanic eruption, adding to that is that there are after shocks expected to happen for the following days and we actually live near the beach. It's so dangerous, thinking about tsunami. I just talked to my mom a while ago and another minor eruption happened.
I am praying for everybody's safety and I hope everything will be okay.

At last I had few extra time fixing my stuffs. After I moved to a new apartment 8 months ago, my stuff are so messy and disorganized. I bought some plastic storage box, and a small table for my laptop. I love my place now, its wider and more accessible than my place before. But this time, I don't have bed, I sleep on the floor, good thing I bought a nice warm mat, I still have a good night sleep...

It's my Birthday .... again?!
Goodness, I can't believe how times flies!!!! It feels like my last birthday was just last day and now it's my birthday again! I woke up reading tons or birthday wishes in my cellphone, facebook and twitter. I am so blessed to have all the folks who loves and accept me for who ever I am. I am so thankful because things got better. Some things that I am wanting to have was granted, some was still a dream but I definitely believe in God's perfect time.
Now, I maybe older but I am stronger, more faithful, patient and hopeful. Life for me, is not just bearing problems -- they are not problems, they are actually challenges, but life is also a gift... a gift that is worth enjoying. Living for someone is such a wonderful thing that is worth living for.
Okay, so uhm,... enough with the drama and everything I'm not really good expressing extremely serious thoughts. Any way, I enjoyed my day today. There are some tiny little problem but, its just slight and better if I ignore it. After all, today is my birthday!
Oh, the cake above is really not mine, I just get it from clker.com :) I'd like to have a birthday cake but I end up having a cake roll
It looks yummy but no candle above... anyway it still a cake. yum! yum!!!

Worried for a Friend
Oh, its another busy week, had passed. One of my gal pal visited me and had some good time in the city. It's been 2 years that we haven't see each other. Lots of things had changed,... Obviously, we look older this time, hmmm, not as old as a wrinkled old lady but let's say more matured, more opinionated and more plans for the future. We also talked about those crazy college days, and asked each other about how are our classmates in college doing now, who's still in touched and what's the latest gossip about them. Then I noticed something on her. Since our college days, she had this bad acne problem. She tried so many treatment and facial wash, it will sometimes lessen but will still leaves ugly acne scars. Now, after two years her face looks so clean and the scars disappeared. She confessed that she's taking this "pill", its a contraceptive pill and also called a beauty pill, because it makes the skin so beautiful for someone who is taking it. I was alarmed and worried because its not a prescribed pill for her, and she even didn't consult a doctor if it is okay for her. It could mess up her hormones or can give some complications to her health. I tried to convince here to go to a doctor and ask for the right acne medicine for her to take.
Now that she's back in the province I hope she think about what I told her.

A-chooooo!!!!!
Sneezing. Every day on my way to work, on the train, while walking at the mall and even inside my workplace, I can see or hear someone sneezing. Colds are common these days because of this bizarre sudden weather changes.
So we all know that nobody wants to have colds and flu. And when we had, there are times that we're in need to sneeze in a public places. We have to do it properly or should we say the hygienic way. We might always think that its embarrassing to sneeze in the public but more importantly is that its the major reason in the spread of an airborne illness. Germs spread so fast!
Stop spreading germs that make you and others sick!
1. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, if that's the only thing within reach.
2. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
3. Put your used tissue in the waste basket.
4. Wash your hands with soap often.
Remember that respiratory illnesses like influenza are spread by:
- Coughing or sneezing
- Unclean hands
And doing the proper way makes good sense and maintains the dignity of the person.

What is the right Food Photography Settings?
I bought my camera every time I go somewhere. Since I spent eating dinner outside, I had time exploring my DSLR samera, using different manual settings. I have two food photos here and I'm confused what is the right food photography settings.
Nikon D5000
VR 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G
32mm - ISO 800
1/8s - F/11
OEV - Preset, 0.0
This is my first photo, grilled Tuna with rice and a side dish. I think its nice, but one thing I don't like is the yellowish background color. I attended lots of dinner party few months before, and I always end up having yellowish photos like this one. I don't like it and I felt bad I can't publish all those photos on the Internet.

This is my second photo, grilled chicken. I think this one is okay. I managed to set a higher ISO number and it works! I think this one is right.
Next time, I am going to show you photos with different Exposure Compensation settings. Feel free to give me some comments and advice to improve my photography. Thanks so much!

Best Source of Event Schedule and Tickets
Looking and searching for a complete event schedule for your favorite baseball team or your favorite band can be stressing. Sometimes tickets, schedule of concerts and games are advertised just few more days before the event happened. The sad part of it is, most of the time tickets are sold out before you attempt to get one. Sometimes you can get some, but it cost double from its original price. This thing always happen to me, I missed a lot of great concerts last year.
I found a great source of event tickets and information site just before the Adam Lambert concert happens here in our place. Ticket America offers great event selections and great ticket prices. It has city guides where you can check out all the games, concerts, theater shows and even big events that are scheduled in all of the states in U.S. I even managed to check out the next Adam Lambert concert that's going to happen this coming December. My cousins in Los Angeles are so excited to buy their tickets now. Not just that, I have a friend in Chicago who is always busy in her work. She and her boyfriend are celebrating their 3rd year anniversary this month. She asked me to look for a great concert to watch this month. Actually City Guides have so many great shows to choose with competitive ticket prices and I found her the perfect concert to watch. Its the Maroon 5 Concert that's happening on October 27th, and its my birthday! Now, she had her ticket and will be sitting in the front.
So, I advise you to check out TicketAmerica.com. Although ticket price vary from the location of the event, the date, seat location and other factors, tickets are affordable and it is 100% money back guarantee if there will be a sales staff made some mistakes.

I certainly missed a lot in blogosphere! I was away for more than 2 weeks because of this mandatory overtime at work, thanks God it is over. I had a lot of things to tell you, I hope I will not forget them all. But firstly I am so happy and excited for the upcoming Harry Potter Part 7 movie (The Deathly Hallows). Actually this is just the part one of the last book and and the part 2 movie will be release on 2011, sigh.... it will going be a long waiting to do.
Yes, I know this movie trailer was released few weeks ago, and probably I'm the last one to post this in a blog.... my bad... but I am one of those millions crazy fans of this story, I don't care if I'm late.
My birthday is just days from now, I am dying and wishing to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park in Universal Studios! I will definitely go there someday, soon.
And oh, one thing more, I am so happy to hear when author J. K Rowling said on Oprah Winfrey interview: "I could definitely write an eighth, ninth, 10th [book]." Wow, way to go J.K. Rowling, I am surely looking forward for the Harry Potter extension series.

Something I wanna buy for myself
When "Apple invasion" started, I never owned any Apple product, because it cost a lot for me. But don't get me wrong, Apple products are on of the best!
I've been using an ordinary cheap MP3 player for years and I decided to buy something new for me.
I am drooling over this new iPod Nano with Multi-touch. It is so tiny which can fit in my pocket and it has FM tuner. One reason why I don't buy iPod before is because aside from it is bulky, it don't have FM tuner. I love listening to my favorite FM program while I'm at work so radio is always the first on my list.
This new iPod was redesigned and became half the size of the first iPod Nano model. I am impressed with its design:
it has a built-in clip. You ca clip it in your sleeve, jacket, or bag.
And also available in seven bright colors which will fit to your personality. Well, I am eyeing for the green one!
I saved enough for this one, and excited to hold my first iPod. :)

Twilight (2nd attempt to take a sunset photography)
Twilight... is my favorite time of the day. It's getting dark, the lights in the streets are beginning to show up, the sky is colorful, dreamy and everything looks so calm. It means time to go home be with family, time to spend dinner with them and have a good night sleep. Another day had past and a new day is about to begin.
Once again I tried to catch the sunset last day, but sadly there are rain clouds around so it didn't turned out good. But its still sunset and I can see some small portion of the sun and the light red sky.
This is the first shot, around 5:30 PM. I love the view, the fishing ships and the ocean, its just that the sky didn't its royal blue and velvet color.
My second shot was around 6:00 P.M. I made some adjustment in my camera settings to make the sky more colorful, but I guess I made the rain clouds more visible, sigh...

I'm back! Last week was crazy. Yes, it was... I was so exhausted, suffered from severe headache and back pain. But it was fun for me and a great challenge. I worked 8 hours plus 4 hours overtime and another 2 hours for online home-based job. It was not easy, but I love being busy.
But the best part of the day was when my Mom came for a long weekend visit. We had a great time, had a chit chat and go to the mall.
Uhmmm, that is me and my Mom. I look hideous and pale. As I said, last week was crazy, I was so busy, stressed out and not feeling well. But, trying to smile on the camera :)
My sister and Mom.
Sis bought a new phone. Its a Samsung Corby B3410. We tried its wifi connection and the speed was good. The camera produced a great photo too. I heard negative comments and complain about corby but as of now, this phone is fine.

Such a busy bee
This is the busiest week for me, this year. All my prayers was answered. I am so thankful! I think I finally learned to be patient and faithful. The year 2010 welcomed me, by facing so much tough challenges, including financial crisis and everything. Things got worst the following months. It really made me feel so sad, depressed and helpless. See, whats the use of living a simple life and making your stomach empty most of the time... if you can life having the money in the world that will make your life comfortable...
Then desperately prayed and hoped to get an online job, preferably an hourly online job. I sent my resume hundred times and all I received was declined noticed. I continued to wait patiently, till just this week, I got a job! There's more, I am doing overtime job in the office, which offers extra income and oh, I am selling laptop and accessories.
Well, it sounds tough... Yes, in fact I am so exhausted but I am so happy. My situation made me workaholic. I'm always wanting or looking for something to do, and I love doing it.
When we are asking for something to happen, and it won't, just wait and believe in God's perfect time. It will just come to you in the most unexpected way.

It's been a week since I get back here in the city, it's always been the same scenario... busy streets everyday, heavy traffic on rush hour, noisy and messy streets. Unlike in my hometown, its the chirps of the birds that I hear early in the morning and the rambling waves from the sea is my lullaby at night. The fresh air makes me feel calm and the best of all when I'm in my hometown, my family. I am surrounded with people I known since I was little. They are the people who know me so well.
I love this photo. My Mom and our dog, Rodney who patiently waited for my mom to come back from work. Every time I look at this pictures, makes me feel so homesick.
But anyway, this picture is taken early in the morning, about 6:00am. I've been in the province for a week but it rained the whole week. Luckily, a day before my trip back to the city, the sun showed up and I grabbed my camera, take some photos around.
My dad loves planting some vegetables in our front yard, these small peppers looks ready to harvest.

Its been 3 days that I'm here having my vacation in my hometown, and its also been 3 days that it's raining. I wasn't able to do all my plans. I suppose to go hiking, island hopping as well as catching the sunrise and and sunset for my landscape photography practice. I heard there in a beautiful waterfalls 10 kilometers from here, but its not a nice idea going there because of the rain, the path is slippery and stiff.
So what I'm doing now? Well, here! Downloading movies and oldies songs for my dad. I just noticed songs before are so great especially on rainy days. I like songs of The Lettermen and The Cascade. I am stock inside the house watching tv but on the other hand I am glad, once again I can watch lots of documentaries from Nat Geo channel and I miss Disney channel, so badly.
When I get bored, I can't avoid my self thinking and reminiscing the past. Lots of things had changed, I've been away from home since I started high school, that's 12 years to be exact. My room was transformed and become a stock room for all our stuffs. Now I am sharing our living room with my dog Rodney, it is now my bedroom and I sleep in a couch. And oh, sometimes its funny this weather can mess up my emotion... I keep on thinking the past, when I was still so young and littier I keep on hoping I get older fast, because when it happens I can go to work, do all the things I want and buy all the stuffs I want. Little did I know, the more I get older the more things will get complicated. So many things to think and to decide. The moment I stepped out from our door, I'm alone by my self. I know its the most stupid thing to say but, basing on the things that is happening... What if God made a mistake? I'm sorry but what if He really did? That maybe if he shaped my fate differently or made me not myself today maybe things will be better. Oh, yes, that is a stupid thinking... I have to blame it to the rain, that it made me so emotional and think nonsense.
I just hope the sun will show up tomorrow so that I can go to the beach, and catch the sunrise.

Packing up
I am going home, in my hometown today to have a one week vacation! Thank God my vacation leave was approved. I am so excited, I can go to the beach again, watch the sunrise and sunset, probably will go hiking when the weather is good, and will take more photos! I'm bringing my laptop and DSLR, though they are heavy and bulky, these are the most important things that should never be forgotten to while traveling and on vacation.
One thing that surely will annoy me is the long bus ride, I mean "long trip", 10 hours to be exact. I wasn't able to booked a flight because I wasn't sure if my vacation leave will be approved. But anyway, I'm going home again. :)
Happy weekend everyone!

Something to eat on another gloomy Sunday
Another rainy and gloomy Sunday. After doing my laundry, I just curled up and sleep the whole afternoon, it's been a long time since I did this. Time flies and I got so bury working that I missed all the things I used to do before. Wow, it really means that I am getting old :(. If only I can freeze the time and do all the stuff I want...
But anyway, I made this rainy day perfect by making spicy dish. Once again I cooked something that is so popular in my hometown.
Looks yummy, isn't it? It's suppose to be mixed vegetables(penakbet) - Bicolano style, it ended up just squash cooked in coconut milk with extra green pepper and crab. I was about to add more veges like string beans, eggplant and bitter melon (ampalaya) but, its rainy and I don't wanna go to the market.
I hope I made you hungry again :)
Happy Sunday!

I really don't think I should put a title on this one
Oh no .... I still, it's such an unfortunate even. I still have flu, can't sleep well and having severe sore throat. That's not it, my laptop hanged-up and I can't use it anymore. I have to take it to a technician tomorrow and I hope that it will not cost me a lot to pay for its reformat service.
I can't believe things are still getting worse :(
But anyway, on Saturday will be our last game for my team in our company's Women's Volleyball Tournament 2010. One more rival team to knock down then they'll be playing in finals. Hope we will win! Go! Go Team Lycans! I'll tell you more on weekend.

It's a rainy and gloomy Sunday. But anyhow, I am loving the rain, I love sleeping when it's raining.
How am I today?
Having colds and fever, poor sense of smell and partially deaf. That's me this weekend. I'm preparing to buy my medicines if in case I will have an asthma attack.
Early at noon, I saw some happy kids playing in the rain, dancing, chasing each other and enjoying the rain. I am so wanting to join with them. Too bad, I'm sick.
