Gold Coins

Collecting of items is a hobby. We tend to do this because it has a value to our life. Most of us choose to collect simple and cheap items, but there are rich people that would spend thousands of dollars just to collect the rarest and most precious things that few of us can afford to have. I saw awesome people featured in magazines and tv that collected luxury cars, mansions, bags, perfumes or yacht but you know, there is one collectible item that really amazed me. And if I could have enough money to afford these, well, I would love to collect or invest gold coins! Coins that are made mostly or entirely of gold! They are prized for their sheer antiquity and historic value, that many feature portraits of famous rulers. Having these are a symbol of success and wealth. Yeah, not everybody can have these.

Gold coins are part of our history, it is used since the people from early days invented coinage. Coins allowed goods to be exchanged for units of fixed value, and in a material that was universally prized and easy to store transport, also it is used as gifts. Oh, don't you know that the first pure gold coins was issued by King Croesus of Lydia in the sixth century BC? And isn't it is such a pride if you could have the very first Egyptian gold coin used around 2,700 BC or the Portuguese Gold Coin used in sixteenth century?

By the way, there are also gold bullion coins, they are coins struck from precious metal and kept as a store of value or an investment, rather than used in day-to-day commerce. One of the most owned bullion is the African Krugerrand, was introduced in 1967. Australian Gold Nugget, was introduced in 1986 by the Gold Corporation, a company owned by the government of Western Australia. It has two unique features: a "two-tone" frosted design effect, and individual hard plastic encapsulation of each coin. Bullion coins sell for a premium over the market price of the metal on the commodities exchanges. They are also typically available in various weights and are usually available in gold and silver. Well, it may cost roughly thousands of dollars, but this small shiny piece of gold is a treasure!
