Just last weekend I keep on ranting about heavy dark rain clouds that just stayed up in the sky and it won't pour a drop of rain... Now, we have plenty of rain! And in fact, I am, grabbing a cup of something hot to heat up my cold rainy Sunday. Even if its wet and messy to walk outside, I think I still have to thank the rain. See, the water dams are in critical state, it's drying up so quickly. It would not enough to supply the whole city, good thing it's raining again.
And speaking of raining, I have something to share with you. In my provice--Bicol, we frequently visited by typhoons and it always rains in that part of the country. So Bicolanos adopted the cold wet place by eating spicy foods. You know, spicy foods can make us feel warm. And rainy as it is today, I have a delicious Bicol specialty called Bicol Express.
It is made of pork, long chilies, coconut milk, shrimp paste or stockfish, onion, pork, and garlic. And I must tell you, we Bicolanos prefer this dish extra spicy. For its recipe you can check this link: Filipino Recipes and you can try making this sometime.
By the way, that photo above was taken when we went to Bicol (Caramoan Peninsula) last month. I promised to post about some great island foods, so this is one of the Bicol specialty that we enjoyed eating in the island. I feel like I'm home when I was there.
So, have a rainy, spicy Sunday!
