What a Phone!..

There is this funny-looking and awesome phone I found in online store. A built-in electric shaver phone which I think can be a nice gift for your man. This can be useful in times when you need to do some shaving and you are in the middle of the wilderness! or... you are a traveller, who need to use the shaver while talking on the phone, something like that. :)

See, this can be a perfect gift for a busy man, who almost forgot to shave, and a unique birthday gift for anyone.

Oh, the phone is called Cool758. This phone has a built-in electric shaver at the bottom and it is not a joke – the razor capacity is enough to give you a nice everyday shave. This razor phone can handle three days old shave, supports two SIM cards and the GSM900/1800 MHz and has the sizes of 120×52x19 mm. It retails for $112.

Apart from electric shaver, the phone features:

•2.5-inch touch screen (240×320 resolution, 260 000 colors);
•506 KB memory;
•it supports microSD memory cards up to 8 GB;
•0.3 megapixel camera;
•FM Tuner, Bluetooth, 64-tone polyphony;
•2800 mAh battery (not built-in but comes with the phone

Nice idea, because if there is phone designed for women, there should be a phone designed for men!

New Apps for iPhone

There are two new iPhone Applications that are so helpful available for iphone users.

I've been using Opera Mini in as my mobile browser. I can browse the internet where ever I go especially when there is no wi-fi connection available in the area. Opera Mini simple, fast and easy to use. For anybody who is using opera mini, the app. uses compression methods that allow you to view a full website, yet download noticeably less data. This also serves as great information for those unlucky enough to be stuck on AT&T’s Edge connection, which is notoriously slow with large data transmissions.

Now it is finally available for the iPhone and iPod Touch for a while.

Another new iphone app. is the GetOlympus app. that can allow you to access to company news, user photo gallery, photography tips and information on special offers. Designed by Olympus to provide dynamic interaction with consumers, the App will be updated with new content and features over time.

Features of the App include:

  • Olympus Resolution User Gallery – view amazing user-submitted photos and read the "behind the shot" stories for inspiration to capture your own spectacular images.

  • Tips – whether you want to learn to take vacation, underwater, panorama or any other memorable photos, tips are available for many different shooting environments. Read Olympus' tips or submit your own!

  • Connect With Olympus – visit Olympus social networks, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr, with the touch of a button.

  • Offers & Promotions – be among the first to know when Olympus is offering a special promotion or cash rebate. Learn about the latest photo contests sponsored by Olympus. Get cash back – trade in your old working digital camera for a new Olympus camera using the Olympus 'Trade In Trade Up' program.

  • Favorites – save your favorite photos, tips and news and share them via email with other GetOlympus users.

You can grab these cool app in www.itunes.com/appstore/.

Tiger Text

I heard an amazing news this morning. Its about a new iPhone and Blackberry application called tigertext. This application is available only for blackberry and iphone users in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Israel, and Canada through the iTunes App Store in each country (for now).

The best thing about this application is that, when you use this, you can erase text messages from your recipients phones. A sender can set how long they want the message to stay on a recipient's phone before it is deleted for good or a sender can choose a "delete on read" setting, giving people a set time to look at the text before the message self-destructs. wow, last year, I posted something called vanish, a technology that is designed to make your electronic messages just literally vanish! Now, apple had succeeded in making this application. And yes, we have to expect more new applications that would able to do limitless things.

But you know this one is some kind of tricky, I should say, because there are flaws for everything we created how much it will appear or sound awesome. For example, this new application can be use to erase the evidence of a certain crime. Anyhow, this is a great application!

Pentax 645D medium format DSLR

I am so trilled and amazed when Hoya Corporation Pentax announced PENTAX 645D lens-interchangeable, medium-format digital SLR camera. Actually, my friend is planning to buy a new SLR and I am posting this blog for her.

So as I was saying, the new Pentax products boast its large image sensor, equal in performance to professional-standard digital camera backs, this high-performance model delivers super-high-resolution images with approximately 40 effective megapixels--40 mega pixels, wow! It also offers outstanding dependability and superb operability and maneuverability to make outdoor shooting effortless and comfortable for demanding photographers.

It combines exceptional image quality with excellent maneuverability and outstanding reliability to simplify professional-level outdoor shooting. Thanks to the incorporation of a large, high-performance image sensor (measuring 44mm by 33mm) and PENTAXoriginal image-processing technology, it produces extra-sharp, super-high-resolution images with approximately 40 effective megapixels. It features remarkable durability and dependability, thanks to its lightweight but solidly built body featuring a magnesium-steel-alloy frame, reinforced glass LCD panel protectors and a reliable dustproof, weather-resistant construction. In addition, it is designed to be compatible with the majority of the existing PENTAX 645 system, so that current PENTAX 645-series camera users can take advantage of their valuable assets, including high-performance smc PENTAX 645 interchangeable lenses.

Anesthetic Approach that Revolutionize Pain Management

Researchers have discovered an anesthetic approach that seems to achieve a long-lasting nerve block that eliminates pain sensation while not affecting motor function.

Researchers at Children's Hospital Boston have discovered an anesthetic approach that has the ability to achieve a long-lasting nerve block that eliminates pain sensation while not affecting motor function. The research was led by Daniel Kohane, MD, PhD, from the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Children's, originally sought only to find an agent that would prolong the anesthetics' effects. This discovery is very important because it can help for childbirth that would block pain without interfering with the mother's ability to push, so that giving birth will be less painful, or for musculoskeletal disorders in which it is important to maintain mobility.

After this discovery their next steps will be to explore the effects of different permeability enhancers and examine their safety, since at high doses the drug combination could potentially be toxic to the nerves.

Come to think of it, lots of people--including myself, ignore their illness because of fear of pain. That is why this new approach is so vital to revolutionize the pain management especially during surgery. For full article click here.

Radio Control Car Fueled by Cola

Too much Cola is bad for the health, but probably now it will be useful as a fuel for cars or device that needs fuel to start running. Japan toy maker Takara Tomy manufactured a prototype RC ‘ene Bio Engine’ car that runs on Sony’s sugar fueled Bio-Battery.

"The passive-type bio battery system generates eco-friendly electricity by breaking down sugar using processes similar to those in living organisms. The speed/running-time of the toy depends on what drink you use"

The car is still a prototype for now, but once on the market, parents will be able to use the toy to encourage less waste and introduce a bit of life science. This invention looks more like a futuristic delivery truck. Oh, the more sugary the drink juicing the battery, the more power the car will receive, it should be noted that although for commercial reasons Tomy has chosen to use colas to promote the car (Coca-Cola, Sprite, 7-Up), the most efficient fuel tested was grape juice.

Well, maybe this can be helpful as substitute for gasoline, and to minimize drinking to much sugar content drinks.

Modern Cremation Will Produce Ferfilizer

Our world is really crowded that there is a new and modern process to dispose human remains. It is called resomation--a process where the human corps will be cremated and will eventually turn into a fertilizer. This process was developed by a Scottish company, Resomation Ltd. To understand how in the world they came up with this idea is, its just like a natural process of decomposition, but they have to hasten it just like pressing the fast-forward button of your remote control. The process will be through alkaline hydrolysis, which occurs when the body is sealed inside a vault-like tube filled with water and lye and steam-heated to 300 degrees and after three hours, a powdery bone fragments and 200 gallons of fluid are all that remains. Comparing to traditional cremation and burial, alkaline hydrolysis doesn’t lead to toxic chemicals like dioxin and formaldehyde being released into the atmosphere or water supply.

This may not be accepted by everybody, it will a personal choice for anybody who would let their relatives/loveones to undergo this process. But I think those that are concern about the environment crisis--global warming, they consider this approach as acceptable and just the right thing. As we can see, even the process is natural and eco-friendly, I think the leaders will still have to struggle to deal with this idea.

How about you? Just curious of what do you think about this. I would be glad if you do comment. As effective and promising as this may seem, this could be a common way to deal with human remains anytime soon.

Google Will Have Its Own OS

Google is developing a Chrome Operating System, will eventually be launch by the middle of 2010. This will be a competitive OS, for it is designed for small, low-cost netbooks as well as for PCs. The key aspects are "speed and simplicity and security".

The operating system, which will run on an open source licence, was a "natural extension" of its Chrome browser. The OS will be fast and lightweight and will get you to web in a few seconds, as the firm said. They are redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates.

Well, this certainly will play a big role in the market, and still there is this big player around--Microsoft. Anyhow, this will be a great OS for everybody. I'm using Chrome and I like its features as well as the themes. This one I assume will be great.

Ikee - First iPhone Worm

There is a news that some iPhone users suddenly had their iPhone wallpaper changed into a picture of '80s singer Rick Astley with the words "Ikee is never gonna give you up"? It is actually a worm known as Ikee, the very first virus created for iPhones. Well, its not that bad because it is not destructive and does not compromise any data contained on the iPhone, but its still a virus… Ikee was developed in Australia and it has not spread beyond Australia.

Ikee can infect only iPhones that have been unlocked and IPhones purchased through regular channels on a plan with an authorized SIM are not at risk. By the way, Ikee’s creator is also the one who created worm on Twitter under the name Ikeeex.

Direct TV Rocks!

We are so lucky living in the comfort of high technology. We can spend the rest of our day-off in front of that big screen television watching our favorite tv programs. But, we are not just satisfied on the programs that we watch; we aim to have surround sound systems, high definition, more channels to choose and so forth...

In June 17, 1994, DirectTV was lunched, and we owe it to Stanley S. Hubbard, He was a leading proponent for the development of direct broadcast satellite service (DBS) in the United States. After that, it evolved to enable the building of very high power satellites and allowed multiple digital television channels to be sent through each satellite frequency. That is how we now enjoy watching the late night shows, sports shows and even the movies that we love in our television screens!

Basically DirectTV is a very good option for everybody, especially those who are living in the places where there are no cable providers. And the thing that will really amaze you is, it offers more channels or even hundreds of digital channels to watch and enjoy. It is ready to go -- DirectTV is 100% digital. And because it lie in HDTV and DVR systems, it is high definition and allows a much larger resolution for viewing, as well as enhanced surround sound. At a resolution of 1280x1080 content is 2-5 times sharper on television sets. If you have a quality digital television set this will replace your need for an HD player or Playstation 3 as you can watch classic movies and new releases on satellite TV. DirectTV has affordable packages that is mostly the options of more customers around the world.

As DirectTV has special offers and packages to choose, and yes, we are so thankful for this. As for me, I don't have to spend my weekend, staring at my white ceiling. I'll spend it in front of my TV screen, with popcorn in my hands. I love movie marathon on Sundays!
