What is the right Food Photography Settings?

I bought my camera every time I go somewhere. Since I spent eating dinner outside, I had time exploring my DSLR samera, using different manual settings. I have two food photos here and I'm confused what is the right food photography settings.

Nikon D5000
VR 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G
32mm - ISO 800
1/8s - F/11
OEV - Preset, 0.0

This is my first photo, grilled Tuna with rice and a side dish. I think its nice, but one thing I don't like is the yellowish background color. I attended lots of dinner party few months before, and I always end up having yellowish photos like this one. I don't like it and I felt bad I can't publish all those photos on the Internet.

Nikon D5000
VR 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G
32mm - ISO 1000
1/25s - F/11
OEV - Preset, 0.0

This is my second photo, grilled chicken. I think this one is okay. I managed to set a higher ISO number and it works! I think this one is right.

Next time, I am going to show you photos with different Exposure Compensation settings. Feel free to give me some comments and advice to improve my photography. Thanks so much!

Best Source of Event Schedule and Tickets

Looking and searching for a complete event schedule for your favorite baseball team or your favorite band can be stressing. Sometimes tickets, schedule of concerts and games are advertised just few more days before the event happened. The sad part of it is, most of the time tickets are sold out before you attempt to get one. Sometimes you can get some, but it cost double from its original price. This thing always happen to me, I missed a lot of great concerts last year.

I found a great source of event tickets and information site just before the Adam Lambert concert happens here in our place. Ticket America offers great event selections and great ticket prices. It has city guides where you can check out all the games, concerts, theater shows and even big events that are scheduled in all of the states in U.S. I even managed to check out the next Adam Lambert concert that's going to happen this coming December. My cousins in Los Angeles are so excited to buy their tickets now. Not just that, I have a friend in Chicago who is always busy in her work. She and her boyfriend are celebrating their 3rd year anniversary this month. She asked me to look for a great concert to watch this month. Actually City Guides have so many great shows to choose with competitive ticket prices and I found her the perfect concert to watch. Its the Maroon 5 Concert that's happening on October 27th, and its my birthday! Now, she had her ticket and will be sitting in the front.

So, I advise you to check out TicketAmerica.com. Although ticket price vary from the location of the event, the date, seat location and other factors, tickets are affordable and it is 100% money back guarantee if there will be a sales staff made some mistakes.

I certainly missed a lot in blogosphere! I was away for more than 2 weeks because of this mandatory overtime at work, thanks God it is over. I had a lot of things to tell you, I hope I will not forget them all. But firstly I am so happy and excited for the upcoming Harry Potter Part 7 movie (The Deathly Hallows). Actually this is just the part one of the last book and and the part 2 movie will be release on 2011, sigh.... it will going be a long waiting to do.

Yes, I know this movie trailer was released few weeks ago, and probably I'm the last one to post this in a blog.... my bad... but I am one of those millions crazy fans of this story, I don't care if I'm late.

My birthday is just days from now, I am dying and wishing to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park in Universal Studios! I will definitely go there someday, soon.

And oh, one thing more, I am so happy to hear when author J. K Rowling said on Oprah Winfrey interview: "I could definitely write an eighth, ninth, 10th [book]." Wow, way to go J.K. Rowling, I am surely looking forward for the Harry Potter extension series.

Something I wanna buy for myself

When "Apple invasion" started, I never owned any Apple product, because it cost a lot for me. But don't get me wrong, Apple products are on of the best!

I've been using an ordinary cheap MP3 player for years and I decided to buy something new for me.

I am drooling over this new iPod Nano with Multi-touch. It is so tiny which can fit in my pocket and it has FM tuner. One reason why I don't buy iPod before is because aside from it is bulky, it don't have FM tuner. I love listening to my favorite FM program while I'm at work so radio is always the first on my list.

This new iPod was redesigned and became half the size of the first iPod Nano model. I am impressed with its design:

it has a built-in clip. You ca clip it in your sleeve, jacket, or bag.

And also available in seven bright colors which will fit to your personality. Well, I am eyeing for the green one!

I saved enough for this one, and excited to hold my first iPod. :)

Twilight (2nd attempt to take a sunset photography)

Twilight... is my favorite time of the day. It's getting dark, the lights in the streets are beginning to show up, the sky is colorful, dreamy and everything looks so calm. It means time to go home be with family, time to spend dinner with them and have a good night sleep. Another day had past and a new day is about to begin.

Once again I tried to catch the sunset last day, but sadly there are rain clouds around so it didn't turned out good. But its still sunset and I can see some small portion of the sun and the light red sky.

This is the first shot, around 5:30 PM. I love the view, the fishing ships and the ocean, its just that the sky didn't its royal blue and velvet color.

My second shot was around 6:00 P.M. I made some adjustment in my camera settings to make the sky more colorful, but I guess I made the rain clouds more visible, sigh...

I'm back! Last week was crazy. Yes, it was... I was so exhausted, suffered from severe headache and back pain. But it was fun for me and a great challenge. I worked 8 hours plus 4 hours overtime and another 2 hours for online home-based job. It was not easy, but I love being busy.

But the best part of the day was when my Mom came for a long weekend visit. We had a great time, had a chit chat and go to the mall.

Uhmmm, that is me and my Mom. I look hideous and pale. As I said, last week was crazy, I was so busy, stressed out and not feeling well. But, trying to smile on the camera :)

My sister and Mom.

Sis bought a new phone. Its a Samsung Corby B3410. We tried its wifi connection and the speed was good. The camera produced a great photo too. I heard negative comments and complain about corby but as of now, this phone is fine.

Such a busy bee

This is the busiest week for me, this year. All my prayers was answered. I am so thankful! I think I finally learned to be patient and faithful. The year 2010 welcomed me, by facing so much tough challenges, including financial crisis and everything. Things got worst the following months. It really made me feel so sad, depressed and helpless. See, whats the use of living a simple life and making your stomach empty most of the time... if you can life having the money in the world that will make your life comfortable...

Then desperately prayed and hoped to get an online job, preferably an hourly online job. I sent my resume hundred times and all I received was declined noticed. I continued to wait patiently, till just this week, I got a job! There's more, I am doing overtime job in the office, which offers extra income and oh, I am selling laptop and accessories.

Well, it sounds tough... Yes, in fact I am so exhausted but I am so happy. My situation made me workaholic. I'm always wanting or looking for something to do, and I love doing it.

When we are asking for something to happen, and it won't, just wait and believe in God's perfect time. It will just come to you in the most unexpected way.
